Which was your favourite?

November 12, 2009 | Simon Crompton

Now the annoying thing about a Shoe of the Month is that it’s only around for (obviously, you may say) a month. That may seem like a long time to make a decision, but when you’re a ditherer like me it goes in a second.

I first became aware of Lodger in April 2009. The shoe of the month was that 1920s tennis shoe with the red lining. I ummed and ahhed for days, finally deciding against the purchase. It’s a choice I’ve regretted ever since. Equally, our lovely founder Nathan gets most Lodgers made in his (rather large) size. But he never got the suede collar oxford that was available in February 2009. It obviously rankles: I’ve heard him tell the story to customers about 30 times.

Now that can all change. To celebrate Lodger’s one-year anniversary, there will be a vote on which was your favourite shoe of the month – the winner will be re-released as an extra-special shoe of the month in January 2010. Obviously Nathan and I won’t be voting, but friends and family out there – if you love me you’ll vote for the tennis shoe!

See photos of all the previous shoes of the month below. Voting starts tomorrow and can be done either through emailing info@lodgerfootwear.com or coming into the shop and declaring in a loud voice “My favourite shoe of the month was…” The choice will then be duly noted.

Poll closes at the end of the month, when the winner will be announced. Good luck. And fingers crossed.

And to refresh your collective memories, we’ve featured all of the styles after the jump.
