There are various 'methods' in existence for having shiny shoes, including floor polish, varnish and even Tornado nose-cone paint!!!! Yes…you did read that last one correctly. After a couple of frenzied hours searching through bloggs for the ULTIMATE shoe shine cheat…I'm pretty intrigued. Obviously real 'bulling' requires plenty of energy and is actually a rather therapeutic exercise….the Boss and I both wax lyrical (sorry…) about our polish collections…but I'm always interested in sneaky insider tips! The best bits of shining info I came across were on the link below…..lots of Forces ppl exchanging tips (and horror stories!) on shoe care. Have a peek…..it's pretty interesting stuff!

I was lucky enough to spend a day in a factory a couple of weeks ago. It's always great to get back in amongst the REAL shoe stuff!
I was generally ferreting around and making a nuisance of myself…when I came across a shoe designer's jackpot!!! A tiny cardboard box full of antique bunks. For those of you not lingo-savvy with footwear terminology; bunking is the technique of sole-bottom decoration using heated wheels to trace patterns around the leather.
I selected two of these almost forgotten wheels to feature on the sole of our forthcoming tennis shoe. Our first sample is due in a couple of weeks..and I can't wait!!!!!!

In the most recent GQ, in the "Style Shrink" section, one Q&A is directed at "fashions for the leggier gentleman". In it, the reader asks for help in finding clothing for tall people with big feet. The author, Robert Johnston, describes the quandary of the larger man succinctly. I paraphrase; "When you do find a dealer in outsize footwear they offer styles that even a geography teacher would think ugly."
That's certainly not the case at Lodger, as the writer describes. And make our Shoes of the Month for each individual customer, regardless of how big or small their feet are. At last count we offered 6 different widths and have made shoes as small as a size 4.
As for the larger sizes, that's a point close to my own heart. At 6'9", with size 14 shoes, I can relate. I'd like to think that Lodger takes very good care of the big men.
Regardless of your size, we'll make sure that you get the perfect fitting shoe. We take the time, ask the right questions, and use our laser scanner to ensure that every one of our customers is comfortable.
